Mahanadi Coalfields Limited has provided financial assistance of Rs.8,07,699/- to Catholic Mission Hospital, Bargarh under its CSR initiative. The fund has been utilized in procurement of OT equipments, and Anesthesia workstation. Final payment has been made in January 2019.Catholic Mission Hospital was started with 12 beds with an objective to extending health care service on charitable basis to the surrounding poor, marginalized, and needy people of Bargarh and nearby areas. At present the hospital has 50 beds and 5 full time Doctors including Laparoscopic surgeon, Gynaecologist and Orthopaedic surgeon. The Centre is equipped with Neo-natal care unit, Fully equipped Laboratory, Blood Bank, Digital X-ray, ECG, Endoscopy, and Physiotherapy. In addition to providing much needed preventive and curative medical healthcare to poor people, the hospital is engaged in implementation of Govt programs viz. DOTS- the TB eradication program, Janani Suraksha Yojana, and Immunisation program.   Apart from this, the most characteristic feature of the Centre is performing Reconstructive Surgeries on physically challenged and leprosy patients. The new OT is coming of as a great boon for this cause and they have already performed 11 reconstructive surgeries since commissioning of new unit. The Hospital authorities have expressed sincere thanks and gratitude to MCL.
