The project consists of Hospital, Medical College, Hostels and Residential complex. Work has started in April 2016. Academic block has already been completed. Construction work in hospital block is in its final stages. MCL is investing 492 Crore in this project. The project is intended to benefit people residing in and around Talcher coalfields, Angul and its adjoining districts viz Deogarh, Boudh, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Subarnapur and Nayagarh. The project is being executed by NBCC on turnkey basis which includes design, construction, furnishing, and equipping the building including allied facilities. It is a ‘Concept to Commissioning’ project taken-up by NBCC. It is being built on an aesthetically appealing concept and conforms to the requirements of Medical Council of India (MCI). Uniqueness of the project lies in the fact that, it is by far the biggest single location CSR project in health and education sector undertaken by any PSU in India both in terms of investment as well as impact. State Govt has provided 20 acres of land free of cost. MCL has got its own 125 bedded hospital functioning in the premises which is being merged with the medical college hospital.
